How We Price a Roofing Job

Roofing prices vary a lot, and most homeowners have no way to tell what a fair one looks like. This page explains how we build our prices so you can check them against any quote you get, ours included.

Trifecta Roofing and Restoration is a local company. We would rather earn a neighbor's trust with a fair price than win a job with a gimmick.

Before any work

What you get before you pay anything

  • A free inspection. We check the roof, attic and siding. There is no charge and no obligation.
  • Photos of what we find. You see the damage yourself, so you can judge whether a repair or a replacement makes sense.
  • A written price. The full price and the scope of work are on paper before work starts.
  • Help with your insurance claim. If the damage belongs on a claim, we document it and meet your adjuster at the house.

The written price

What is in a written price

A good quote spells out the work so you can compare it line by line. Ours covers:

  • Materials: the shingle type and color, including Class 4 impact-resistant shingles if you choose them.
  • The whole system: tear-off and disposal, underlayment, flashing and ventilation, not just new shingles.
  • Decking: any rotten decking is replaced at a rate agreed before the job starts.
  • Cleanup: debris catch systems and a magnet sweep for nails.
  • Warranty: a written workmanship warranty, in your hands when the job is done.

What affects it

Why two quotes for the same roof can differ

The size and pitch of the roof, the number of valleys and skylights, how many layers have to come off, the material you choose, and the condition of the wood underneath all change the price. So does what is left out. A low quote that skips underlayment, flashing or decking repair is not the same job as a higher one that includes them.

When you compare bids, compare the scope first and the price second. Our guide to comparing roofing companies in Tulsa goes through what to look for.

Our promise

What we do not do

  • We do not use high-pressure sales or "sign today" discounts.
  • We do not use gimmicks.
  • We do not add services you did not ask for.
  • We do not recommend a replacement when a repair will do.

Every job is priced for the work your roof needs, and nothing more.

Ask any roofer

Questions to ask before you sign

  1. Are you licensed in Oklahoma, and what is your license number? (Ours is Oklahoma License #80004379.)
  2. Can you show proof of general liability and workers' compensation insurance?
  3. Will you give me the full price and scope in writing?
  4. What happens if you find rotten decking?
  5. Will you meet my insurance adjuster?
  6. Are you local, and can I reach you after the job is done?

Questions

Pricing questions we hear most

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Every job starts with a free inspection of the roof, attic and siding. You get photos of what we find and a written price.

How much does a new roof cost?

It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the material you choose, the condition of the decking and how many layers have to come off. Every roof is different, so the honest number comes from an inspection, not from a guess.

Will the price change after work starts?

Only if we find rotten decking once the old roof is off. We tell you right away and replace it at the rate we agreed on before the job started, so the new roof sits on solid wood.

Will you pressure me to sign today?

No. We give you the written price and the photos and let you decide. Be careful with any roofer who offers a discount that expires tonight.

Will you tell me if I only need a repair?

Yes. If a repair will do, we say so and show you photos so you can see why. We will not sell you a replacement you do not need.
